ROPA is an independently funded association formed in 1998 to seek to ensure the security of our pension fund and its fair management in the interests of all of its members.
Objectives:
- to monitor the security of the Pension Fund.
Were you aware that the fund is now in deficit but that between the years 1989 to 1998 the Company spent a £215 million surplus? More..
- to increase the number of pensioner nominated trustees on the RO Pension Fund Board.
We believe it is wrong that almost 15,000 pensioners are represented by 1 trustee and yet there are 5 Trades Union trustees to represent 1,500 members currently employed by RO. More...
- to seek improved benefits for pensioners.
Did you know that, in spite of previous surplus funding, there was only one minor improvement to pensions in payment? More..
- to maintain contact with other pensioner groups and relevant organisations
We are members of the National Pensioners' Convention, the Occupational Pensioners' Alliance, and have submitted evidence to both parliamentary reviews and select committees. More..
If you are a Royal Ordnance Pensioner or Deferred Pensioner, here is why YOU need to join ROPA.

If you are a member of any another company pension scheme and would like to join us in the fight for reform of occupational pensions, please contact the Occupational Pensioners' Alliance.
