Occupational Pensioners AllianceROPA is an active member of the Occupational Pensioners Alliance which is a democratic, non-party-political organisation of occupational pensioners' associations in the UK. The OPA was formed in October 2003 from a merger of the former Confederation of Occupational Pensioners' Associations (COPAS) and the Alliance of Occupational Pensioners (AoP).

Together now, the OPA represents the interests of well over 1 million occupational pensioners from across the country. Speaking with one voice enables the OPA to engage more effectively with Government and Parliament on behalf of our members.

The OPA succeeded in persuading the government to change some aspects of the 2004 Pensions Act in our favour and it continues to suggest changes to further proposed legislation.

ROPA's Secretary, Bernard Potter, is the Treasurer for the OPA and Gordon Williams is the representative of ROPA on the OPA Council.

Nationa Pensioners CoventionROPA is also affiliated to the National Pensioners Convention which is Britain's biggest pensioner organisation representing over 1000 local, regional and national pensioner groups with a total of 1.5m members. Its main objective is to promote the welfare and interests of all pensioners, as a way of securing dignity, respect and financial security in retirement.
